2020 6th Grade Survivor Camp
In order to help our students transition to 6th grade as smoothly as possible, we have a program in place called WEB. WEB stands for "Where Everybody Belongs". This program is facilitated by three teacher leaders who help a select group of 8th grade students learn how to work as peer mentors for our incoming 6th graders. The WEB student leaders will facilitate a 6th grade orientation (tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th) and will continue to meet with 6th grade students throughout the school year to support the transition to middle school.
In addition to WEB, we are offering three sessions of 6th Grade Survivor Camp. The camp, based on the television show "Survivor" is designed to help students gain skills for making the transition to middle school. Camp counselors are 6th grade teachers and middle school students who have organized activities filled with games, fun and friendships!
We were able to obtain a grant to fund Survivor Camp this summer. This means that campers can attend for FREE! Sessions will be open to the first 50 students who register for each session. If all three sessions fill, then a fourth session will be opened to take place August 17-20 from 1:00-4:00 PM.
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. All sessions are full.
*Camp will be held at Swartz Creek Middle School and campers will be notified via email of their camp session by August 3, 2020.
