Unified Leadership
Do you believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect? Are you interested in being a leader at your school? Do you think you are or could be a good role model for other students? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, then the Unified Leadership program might be the elective class for you!
Unified Leadership is a group of students who want to actively try to change the culture in our school. You will plan school-wide awareness campaigns, have collaborative experiences, practice and participate in Special Olympics sports competitions, help students with disabilities discover their creative selves, and build genuine friendships with your peers who have intellectual disabilities. The goal of the program is to make your peers with intellectual disabilities feel included in our school and to encourage others to treat them with respect and dignity. You would learn how to be an advocate for people who can't always advocate for themselves.
