About Mrs. Barta
Hello I am Saundra Barta. I am starting my 23nd year of teaching here at Swartz Creek. This year I will be teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra. I have taught math most of my years here but taught 3 years of Science when I first began.
I graduated from New Lothrop High School, Saginaw Valley State University (Bachelors Degree) and Marygrove College (Masters Degree). I currently live in the Chesaning School District with my husband Gary and our three children. Our daughter, Jordyn, is a Junior at Michigan State University. Our daughter, Erica, is a Junior at Chesaning High School and our son, Luke, is in the 5th grade at Chesaning MIddle School. My husband is a full-time farmer so outside of teaching I am busy helping him with our crop and beef cattle operation.
My family and I love sports (basketball, softball/baseball and volleyball) and are always on the go attending one of their competitions. My husband is a high school basketball official which keeps him active in the winter and in touch with his favorite sport. My children also show livestock (steers and sheep) at the Shiawassee County Fair which is a lot of fun. We are huge Michigan State fans considering my husband and his whole family are MSU grads and that our daughter is in the Nursing program there.
I am looking forward to this year and hope that all my students will have fun and be successful!

Just a reminder that my daily assignments and announcements are emailed to your child everyday through their school email account. They can also go to their google classroom app and view it from there.

Parents....I post daily assignments and announcements on google classroom. Your child needs to sign up for their respective hour and share that information with you.

All hours: Went over class information handout...please return last page by this Friday. Please have required materials ready to go by next Monday.
June 12-14
Finals will be given Monday-Wednesday. First and second hour took their finals today, 3rd and 4th hours will take their final on Tuesday and finally 5th and 6th hours will take their finals on Wednesday.

Pre-Algebra: Students started working on the Spongebob Graphing Assignment...they were collected at the end of the hour and will be given back to work on tomorrow. These are to be finished and colored by the day of their final.
Keep studying for the final using the study guide!!

Pre-Algebra: Students had the opportunity to ask questions about any of the problems on their study guide for the exam next week. Their assignment is p. 673 #8-12 (fourth hour has #8-11).
Chapter 7 test retakes after school today and before/after school tomorrow.

Took notes/reviewed how to put two ordered pairs into slope intercept form....assignment is a worksheet with 15 problems like this on it to complete.
Chapter 7 test retake is before/after school Wed/Thurs.
Quarter 4 study guide was given yesterday and should be completed to go over tomorrow.

Pre-Algebra: Assignment is Homework Practice and Problem Solving worksheets for lesson 6 in chapter 7. Test over chapter 7 tomorrow. Students have 2 practice tests to use as study guides.

Pre-Algebra: Students were given two practice tests to work on during the hour and given the answers at the end. They had the opportunity to ask questions. They need to study these two practice tests for their real test over chapter 7 on Thursday.
Quiz 7.3-7.5 retake is tomorrow before/after school and some students have the opportunity to take it during class.

Pre-Algebra: Lesson 7-6...assignment is Skill worksheet lesson 6. Chapter 7 test will be next Thursday. Quiz retake over lessons 7.3-7.5 will be next Wednesday before or after school. Stumble sheets must be completed.
