Swartz Creek Middle School - Washington DC Trip Club 2019

Parent-Student Informational Meeting - Coming Up!

The trip date is rapidly approaching, yet our travel club members have much to accomplish in preparation of the Washington DC Trip departure date.  Please review the list below to ensure you're fully informed and prepared:

1.) Students need to meet academic and behavioral eligibility requirements for Quarter Two as agreed upon prior to trip registration. Quarter Two concludes on Friday, January 18th so students that have to retake any tests to repair grades need to wrapping up matters ASAP!

2.) Student and parent review of the "Responsibility Contract For Overnight Trips"  (Form: 2340 F6).  Students will receive their contract on Monday, January 7th during a meeting with trip leaders hosted during Dragon Time. Contracts must be signed and returned to the Main Office by the end of the First Semester, Friday, January 18th.

3.) Parents and students will need to work together to get applicable medication forms together for any medication that is going to be needed on the trip.  SCMS Administration needs to have all medication that is intended for trip usage submitted to the Main Office through the upcoming Parent-Student Informational Meeting.

4.) All students and at least (1) parent need to attend the mandatory informational meeting scheduled as follows:

*We have limited space in the Cafe so families are asked to please limit meeting attendees to student club member and parent.

5.) Student Adventures has an excellent app for tracking the club's movements throughout the trip.  Please consider downloading the app to get updates from the Student Adventures travel guide. More details are available at the link below:

If parents or students have any questions regarding the upcoming Washington DC Trip, please contact the SCMS Principal, Kevin Klaeren, at (810) 591-1705.

Note: Our Washington DC Trip occurs in the month of February which always includes the challenge of wintry weather. In the event of poor weather conditions on our launch day, the trip could be delayed until the weather breaks. If similar circumstances present themselves while in Washington DC, Student Adventures will make the needed adjustments to preserve the trip agenda (an additional trip day could be added under extreme circumstances).
Parents and students are encouraged to download the SA Trip App available for iPhone and Android devices - FREE!
